: I believe the ECU doesnt take the knock sensor into consideration when the engine is cold. Thus, good cold power. At operating temps when it's reading the knock sensor (KS), it's getting a bad reading and thus retarding the ignition timing. Bad ignition timing can rob a LOT of power on any engine. I have replaced darn near everything else that didn't test good. The knock sensor seems to test good, but I think it's a sporadic problem. I will replace it as soon as I pay off my car (only a couple hundred away!)
